Penataan Kawasan Barito, Pengamat Sebut Bakal Jadi Magnet Baru

Barito Arrangement Has Its Own Charm, Observer Says

The Barito area arrangement in South Jakarta as part of Bendera Pusaka Park construction will be run soon. The development of this park is an integration of several existing city parks, such as Ayodya Park, Langsat Park, and Leuser Park, to create a green open space designed to be a national icon as well as a family-friendly public space.

The government never neglects

The Barito Animal Market traders will be relocated to several markets under the Pasar Jaya management. It is aimed to support the arrangement.

The Jakarta Provincial Government emphasized that the relocation is carried out with a humane and non-repressive approach, and provided several benefits to traders. These included a three-month rent-free rental period, flexible relocation location options, and temporary relocation facilities in the area around Kulabasar Market and other markets owned by PD Pasar Jaya.

Mayor Anwar Ensures Facilitation of Barito Loksem Traders' Relocation

Urban observer Yayat Supriatna expressed his support for the Jakarta Provincial Government's move. He stated that this restructuring is not an eviction, but rather a strategic step to optimize the integrated use of provincial-owned land while still respecting the social and economic rights of residents, particularly traders.

"This isn't about eviction, but about restructuring. The government never neglects, but rather provides space and the best options for a better future," he said, Wednesday (8/6).

Yayat said that this park is located in the strategic primary area and the city's economic center, so that this park can become an oasis in the business zone.

"This park is predicted to become a new magnet. It can serve as a recreational, commercial, and activity hub," he said.

Yayat also highlighted the 3Ds approach to regional planning: Density, Diversity, and Design. Regarding density, he explained that the Barito area has a high population density, necessitating the need for green open spaces within the community.

"Then there's diversity, where one area houses the center of the economy, government, and other services. Thus, this park becomes a complete element. People find a space to relieve stress from work and other things," he explained.

Meanwhile, related with the design, he continued, this park will be equipped with comfortable sidewalks for pedestrians and integrated transportation to be easily accessed from various places.

"We may not forget the MSMEs during the arrangement. This surely makes the park more alive," he added.
