Happiness of Kampung Bayam Residents living in HPPO JIS

Residents of Kampung Bayam have now moved and occupied the Worker Support Housing Units for the Jakarta International Stadium (HPPO JIS).

It feels like a dream to return to this area

HPPO JIS Resident in Tower C, Floor 2, Unit 003, Ribka Martaulina (56), expressed her happiness to occupy a proper house at HPPO JIS. Previously, she was relocated to the Nagrak Flat in Cilincing.

"It feels like a dream to return to this area. Alhamdulillah (thank God), I am very grateful because what we have wanted and hoped for has come true," she expressed, Friday (8/8).

Former Kampung Bayam Residents Sign HPPO JIS Unit Contract

She expressed her deepest gratitude to the Jakarta Government and the North Jakarta City administration for realizing the wishes of Kampung Bayam residents.

She also received food aid from the North Jakarta Social Sub-agency to meet her daily needs.

"Finally, my child can arrive at school earlier because before the trip was long and congested, from Nagrak Flat to the Warakas area. Now, we can stay comfortably and peacefully," she admitted.

The same sentiment also came from Sumiyati (53), a resident of HPPO JIS in Tower B, 3rd Floor, Unit 10.

"I'm very grateful to be back here. It's been almost two years since we moved. It feels nostalgic, being able to meet old neighbors because we were separated before," she explained.

She admitted that she would start her own business again because she had previously run a small restaurant.

"Thank you very much to the government for making this housing possible. Of course, we will take care of and maintain this flat," she admitted.

North Jakarta Mayor, Hendra Hidayat explained that the relocation of former Kampung Bayam residents to HPPO JIS was done gradually. On Wednesday (8/6), 10 residents moved to Tower C, and today, 30 residents moved, including 12 to Tower C and 18 to Tower B.

"Those who moved have signed the contract last week and are willing to transfer to HPPO JIS. The transfer process is running smoothly and well," he explained.

He also asked all related OPDs to meet the needs of the residents, such as administrative transfers, healthcare services, and social assistance.

Further, the HPPO JIS area has been completed with various facilities to support residents' economic activities, such as urban farming, including agricultural land and fish ponds.

"Hopefully, they can also work together to maintain and take care of their current residence," he hoped.
