No Car Free Day on Jalan Sudirman - Thamrin on August 17

The Jalarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) will cancel Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

This decision was made to support the smooth conduct of the 80th Independence Day celebration activities centered at various strategic points in the capital city.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said the CFD is canceled, following Gubernatorial Regulation No. 12/2016 Article 5 paragraph (1).

The regulation explains that CFD can be canceled if at the same time there are national or international-scale events that require special traffic management and security arrangements.

"We fully support all national activities in celebration of the 80th anniversary. Hence, the CFD on August 17 is canceled to avoid disrupting the event that requires focus on security and traffic flow," he expressed, Friday (8/8).

He also urged residents to continue supporting efforts to reduce pollution and maintain health by engaging in physical activities independently, even without the implementation of CFD in the Sudirman - Thamrin area.

"This can be rescheduled for the following week according to the regular schedule," he added.
