Traffic Diverted at Jalan TB Simatupang as Pipe Construction

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is diverting traffic on Jalan TB Simatupang, South Jakarta as the wastewater pipe is under construction until October 2025.

This work is divided into several sections

This work is done gradually, including preparation, excavation, pipe installation using jacking method over a length of 2,549 meters, manhole construction, and reinstatement.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said, this traffic is diverted to smoothen work operations and minimize traffic flow disruptions.

"This work is divided into several sections, with some locations being on private land, parks, or sidewalks. In the stage that enters the roadway, we will implement traffic management, including temporarily reducing the number of lanes," he expressed, Wednesday (8/13).

By so, he urged residents to reroute their travel plans during the work period. They can use alternative routes around the area or take public transportation, such as Transjakarta or MRT Jakarta.

"Please avoid Jalan TB Simatupang during peak hours to parse congestion," he explained.

Despite there are currently excavations and traffic disruptions, the results of the work will provide great benefits in the future.

"Especially in improving a better and environmentally friendly wastewater management system for Jakarta residents," he continued.

Here is the division of initial phase work locations:

- Section 1 is located in a private land area, park/sidewalk (already in progress)

- Section 2 is located in a private land area, park/sidewalk (already in progress)

- Section 3 is located in a private land area, park/sidewalk (already in progress)

- Section 4

1. Pit MS-4 starting pit. The work period is from July 5, 2025, to November 21, 2025, located on the south side of Jalan TB Simatupang across from the Cibis building exit, with traffic reduced from two lanes to one lane during the work

2. Pit MS-6 arriving at the pit. The work is from July 5, 2025, to October 17, 2025, at the south side of Jalan TB Simatupang in front of SBBU, during which traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one lane throughout the construction work

3. Pit MS-7 arriving at the pit. The work is from July 5, 2025, to November 21, 2025, on the south side of Jalan TB Simatupang in front of a Sundanese food stall, during which traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one lane throughout the work period

4. During the work, the road width will be reduced

- Section 5

1. PIT MU-42 arriving at the pit. The work from September 20, 2025, to December 26, 2025, is located on the north side of Jalan TB Simatupang in front of the Ratu Prabu building, with traffic originally consisting of three lanes reduced to two lanes during the construction work

2. PIT MU-43 starting pit. The work is from July 19, 2025, to December 26, 2025, at Jalan TB Simatupang on the North side in front of the Ratu Prabu building, during which traffic will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes throughout the construction period

3. PIT MU-44 arriving at the pit. The work is from July 19, 2025, to October 17, 2025, at the north side of Jalan TB Simatupang in front of Wisma Raharja building, with traffic originally consisting of three lanes being reduced to two lanes during the work
