"This is the first JAK in Jakarta that can be opened and closed," he said on Friday (8/15).

Heru explained that the technology used on the nine-meter-long and 1.5-meter-wide drawbridge will make it easier to carry out work underneath, such as cleaning the river.

According to him, the JAK construction was proposed by local residents because the previous bridge was deemed very unsafe and hazardous. Some parts of the old bridge even shook when vehicles passed over it.

"The construction took three months, starting in June 2025, involving third-party experts in the field," he mentioned.

He further explained that JAK's operation uses a manual pulley system. However, to shorten the opening and closing time, a power drill has also been prepared for use.

He hopes the JAK Angkat Mulia in South Jakarta, which can be opened and closed, will serve as an example of global-standard infrastructure development that can be replicated by other areas, particularly in Jakarta.

"I ask residents to jointly supervise and maintain this excellent bridge. Don't let malicious acts cause the brige to malfunction in the future," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Head of RT 01/05, Kebayoran Lama Utara Urban Village, Anwar Hamid, expressed gratitude for the long-awaited completion of the JAK, which allows residents to resume their normal activities.

"According to previous socialization, the construction strat from June to September 2025. Alhamdulillah, it was completed earlier and looks very good and sturdy," he said.
