S. Jakarta Mayor Inspects Jacking System Drainage Project at Marine Base

South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar inspected the drainage project with jacking system in Marine Corps Headquarters, Cilandak Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district.

" The current progress has reached 86 percent,"

Anwar stated that the inspection aimed to ensure the construction of 793-meter-long and 10-meter-deep drainage system was progressing well and according to plan.

"The project is funded by Water Resources Agency and carried out by the third party. The current progress has reached 86 percent and is targeted to be completed by the end of September 2025," he explained, Friday (8/22).

Following the drainage construction, the South Jakarta Government will also intensify the installation of deeper infiltration wells.

"Hopefully, this area will no longer experience flooding, and with the addition of infiltration wells, the quality and quantity of groundwater here will improve," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Cilandak Marine Base Commander, Colonel (Marine) Dian Suryansyah, appreciated the South Jakarta Government for its initiative, which he said has been highly effective in addressing recurring flooding issues.

"We used to think that water should simply be drained or directed to reservoirs. But, with this drainage and infiltration well program, we're confident that it will give great benefits to the environment," he said.
