Jakarta Provincial Government to Add More Lifting Bridge

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, wants to increase the construction of lifting bridges, such as the one that has been built on the Gandaria Bridge, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

So we need to construct more

The lifting bridge has been constructed by Jakarta Provincial Government through South Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency.

"Before constructing lifting bridge in Gandaria, the related team discussed with us. Our plan is adding more lifting bridges in Jakarta," Pramono said, Wednesday (8/20).

Pramono stated that the lifting bridge is built to facilitate drainage channel maintenance using excavators in densely populated areas. This will ensure smooth mobility for residents and also help maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding waterways.

"This lifting bridge eases the channel or small river maintenance by using small excavator. So we need to construct more," he added.

As for information, Gandaria Bridge is the first lifting bridge in Jakarta. This bridge, which connects the two areas of Gandaria-Kebayoran Baru and Kebayoran Lama, is nine meters long and 1.5 meters wide.

Besides pedestrians, this bridge can also be safely crossed by motorcyclists.
