Jakarta Health Agency Coordinates Hospital Referrals for Injured Protesters

Jakarta Health Agency reported that a total of 341 patients received medical treatment following the demonstrations that turned chaotic on August 28-29, 2025. Of that number, 200 have been diagnosed, while the remaining 141 are still under medical confirmation at hospitals.

"...to ensure that patients receive the medical treatment they need as quickly as possible,"

Patients were referred to a number of public and private hospitals. In details, Pertamina Central Hospital (13 cases), Pelni Hospital (23), Bhakti Mulia Hospital (26), Mintohardjo Naval Hospital (57), POLRI Hospital (57), Kramat 128 Hospital (143), and others such as Hermina Jatinegara, Islamic Hospital Cempaka Putih, and Tarakan Regional Hospital. Several patients required inpatient care, including 57 admitted at POLRI Hospital.

Jakarta Health Agency also deployed field support with 29 ambulance units, one motorcycle ambulance, 8 doctors, 60 nurses and 8 ambulance drivers. While most patients received prompt treatment, some remain under observation due to more serious conditions.

"We are maintaining coordination with all referral hospital to ensure that patients receive the medical treatment they need as quickly as possible," said Ani Ruspitawati, Head of Jakarta Health Agency, on Saturday (8/30).

She noted that medical teams were stationed at key points around the protest areas to facilitate faster evacuations. Backup ambulances were also on standby in case the number of patients increased. Ani emphasized that all medical personnel across healthcare facilities remain fully alert.

"We will continue to provide first aid and medical referrals for demonstration victims. All partner health facilities are prepared to deliver optimal care," she asserted.

According to her, 44 health centers (puskesmas) are on 24-hour standby, along with 31 regional hospitals (RSUDs) across Jakarta, all ready to receive referred patients.

"Yesterday afternoon, we also activated an emergency field service to provide first aid to victims," she mentioned.
