Jakarta Council Legislative Body (Bapemperda) Chairman, Abdul Aziz, targets five draft bylaws to be completed by the end of December 2025.
Five will be discussed until the end of the year
"Of the 12 priority draft bylaws this year, five will be discussed until the end of the year," he expressed, Tuesday (9/2).
Of the total 12 draft bylaws, three are mandatory, four have already been discussed through a special committee (Pansus), and the remaining will be discussed with the executive.
Bapemperda to Complete 13 Bylaws Next YearAccording to him, draft bylaws that have been discussed by the special committee are usually about 80–90 percent complete when returned to Bapemperda, so the completion process can be faster.
He aims for the discussion to be completed by the end of September. That way, the Bapemperda can continue the discussion process starting from October.
Regarding the priority draft bylaws for 2026, there is no final decision yet. This is because many important proposals from council members have not been included in the list.
He also mentioned the draft bylaw on Education Management, which is still awaiting the National Education System Law from the central government.
"If there is no clarity until the end of 2025, this will likely be carried over to 2026," he closed.
