Bapemperda Pastikan Raperda Kewenangan Khusus DKJ Jadi Prioritas

Bapemperda Ensures Draft Bylaw for DKJ's Special Authorities is a Priority

The council's legislation body (Bapemperda DPRD) ensures that discussion of the Draft Bylaw regarding special authority as stated in Article 19 of Law Number 2/2024 on the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ) will be a priority.

It will be our priority scale Draft Bylaw for discussion, prioritized first

Jakarta Bapemperda DPRD Chairman, Abdul Aziz said the legislative was still waiting for the executive to submit a Draft Bylaw regarding 15 additional special authorities in order to be included in the Bylaw Formation Program (Propemperda).

"We (Bapemperda) are still waiting for the executive's draft submission along with the two administrative requirements to be included in the discussion of the Propemperda," he expressed, Monday (1/6).

Jakarta City Council Work Plan Agreed

Jakarta Bapemperda Vice Chairman, Jhonny Simanjuntak added the Draft Bylaw would be set as a priority for discussion following the additional authority that previously existed in the central government.

"It will be our priority scale Draft Bylaw for discussion, prioritized first," he explained.

He explained the bylaw would become a legal protection for Jakarta to have greater autonomy in regulating regional policies.

"This is a step to make DKI Jakarta's policies move from previously being inseparable from the domain of the central government to being handled by the DKJ," he explained.

He added his party would hold a Bapemperda meeting to discuss a more detailed discussion schedule. The legislative and executive would work together to ensure the discussion process runs quickly and effectively.

"For the scheduling is not yet ready, but if it's like this, it will usually be prioritized first. We'll soon have an internal Bapemperda meeting to arrange the time and later follow up with the executive to determine the schedule more quickly," he added.

With the addition of these 15 authorities, Jakarta was expected to be more independent in making decisions and improving public welfare.

"Hope, this draft bylaw will have a positive impact on the future development of Jakarta," he hoped.

As for the information, Jakarta DPRD Chairman Khoirudin, said with the ratification of Law Number 2/2024, Jakarta will receive the authority to manage 15 affairs previously managed by the central government. It gives Jakarta broader autonomy and opportunities to increase local revenue (PAD).

Some of the big opportunities that Jakarta will get in the future, such as Jakarta's authority and power in managing investment, maritime affairs, education, employment, and the environment.

Therefore, he prompted the Jakarta Government to prepare the regulations needed to manage the 15 central affairs.
