Commission D Appreciates Accelerated Improvement of Public Facilities in Jakarta

Jakarta City Council's Commission D Chairman, Yuke Yurike appreciated the quick step taken by Jakarta Provincial Government in repairing damaged public facilities impacted by chaotic demonstration in the city.

"We appreciate the quick and decisive action taken by the Governor and the Jakarta Provincial Government in addressing this issue. Working together to immediately repair the facility so that the public can use it," she said, Wednesday (9/3).

Yuke urged residents to protect public facilities and assets belonging to the Jakarta Provincial Government to prevent further damage. She also supported the Jakarta Provincial Government's policy of making Transjakarta and other modes of transportation free during repairs for the next week.

City Government and Public Works Ministry Collaborate to Repair Damaged Public Facilities

"Jakarta still needs various development, such as schools, hospitals, green open spaces, flood mitigation, and waste management. Unfortunately, we have to deal with this damage," she added.

Yuke also welcomed the cooperation in repairing the Pedestrian Bridge in the Senen area and in front of the Regional Police Headquarters, which was handled by the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Ministry of Public Works.

"This could ease the provincial government's budget burden, allowing it to focus on improving other sectors. Good coordination between relevant ministries and agencies is the key," she continued.
