Inaugurating SMA Bintaro, Pramono Wants to Produce an Excellent Generation

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the SMA Labschool Bintaro building at Labschool Bintaro, South Jakarta, Tuesday (9/9).

In his speech, Pramono assessed that Labschool has a good reputation and is known for excelling in shaping students' character.

"One of the advantages of Lab School everywhere is the ethos and also instilling children’s dreams to aim as high as possible. That is what I did not get from almost most of the existing schools," he expressed.

He hoped that this school could maintain that excellence and become a favorite school that produces a generation with strong character. The construction of this new school building is seen as a concrete effort to improve the quality of education in Jakarta.

"Once again, I pray to all my children to reach for their highest aspirations, place their dreams as high as possible, and one of the most important things in your life is to never forget to make your parents proud," he continued.

Chair for Daily Management Board of Labschool, Etty Sariwarti, stated that the interest of applicants at SMA Labschool Bintaro is very high. Since it began operating in the 2025-2026 academic year, as many as 1,200 prospective students have registered through achievement and test routes. Of that number, 223 students were selected and divided into seven classes.

"The learning process has begun. The character building orientation is guided by the motto One Labs Faith, Knowledge, and Practice. The name Lab School Bintaro is abbreviated as Lab Star, with each letter representing leadership, trustworthiness, broad-mindedness, spirituality, thinker, action, and resilience," she explained.

She also hopes for continued support from various parties so that SMA Labschool Bintaro can facilitate education and prepare children to face future challenges.

"We invite everyone to always collaborate to facilitate education so that our children can compete and survive in facing life in their era," she stated.
