South Jakarta PMI Serves 7,719 Residents

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) South Jakarta has provided outdoor healthcare services to 7,719 people in more than 32 different locations from January up to today.

South Jakarta PMI Head, Abdul Haris said the services provided by the South Jakarta PMI are in order to support various PMI humanitarian programs and activities, from the use of community fundraising results.

"All the activities are the result of community contributions through the PMI Fundraising Month. The purpose is to increase community awareness and concern for others," he said, Tuesday (9/9).

Haris explained that the South Jakarta PMI has also provided 1,246 clinic health services, 31 hearse services, and 32 ambulance referral services.

Then, the South Jakarta PMI also distributed 27,706 blood bags to 43 hospitals, distributed 10,000 liters of clean water, 2,650 ready-to-eat food packages, 2,209 jerrycans of cleaning fluid, and 1,762 other disaster relief packages to disaster-affected residents.

"As for the education, we have succeeded in creating 336 units or PMR schools as well as disseminating and socializing the Red Cross to 9,960 participants with 67 activities," he explained.

Haris hopes that by implementing all the best activities and services for the community, it will positively impact health and enhance Red Cross knowledge. This will ultimately benefit the community as a whole.
