Pramono: Measles Cases in Jakarta are Under Control

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, stated that the measles situation in Jakarta is still under control. The number of measles cases has not increased significantly as seen in several other provinces.

"Jakarta currently has no significant increase in measles cases like what is happening in other provinces," he expressed, at Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Friday (9/12).

He admitted there were measles cases found in Cilincing and Cengkareng. However, the number of measles cases found was relatively similar to that of the previous year.

Health Agency Emphasizes the Importance of Measles Prevention

Therefore, he emphasized that the current measles situation in Jakarta was not experiencing an increase as feared by the public.

Nevertheless, the Jakarta Government had prepared precautionary measures to prevent the spread of measles in Jakarta. One of them was breaking the chain of measles transmission from outside the region to Jakarta.

"We have already tried to cut down on transmission and so on. Up until today, what has happened is the measles that we are worried about, especially if it comes from outside and enters Jakarta," he stated.
