Retaining Wall Repair on Jalan Banjarsari Completed

Blue Troops of Water Resources (SDA) Unit in Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, have completed retaining wall repairs and channel dredging along Jalan Banjarsari, RW 08, Cilandak Barat Urban Village.

"The work began in June 2025,"

Head of SDA Unit for Cilandak Sub-district, Yansori, informed that the drainage improvements was carried out to follow up residents' proposal through Community Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) 2025.

"The request we received involved repairing and dredging water channels that pass through RT 02, 04, 05, 07, and 08 in RW 08, Cilandak Barat," he mentioned, on Monday (9/15).

Yansori explained that the work covered a 320-meter water channel with a height and width of 60 centimeters, involving 8 Blue Troops personnel equipped with supporting tools.

"The work began in June 2025 and has been going well according to plan," he added.

He noted that the dredged channel had accumulated around 40 centimeters of sediment and waste.

"We hope residents become more aware of keeping the area clean by not throwing trash into the channel, as it can lead to flooding," he asserted.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Edi, appreciated the SDA team's efforts in responding to residents' long-standing request for improvements to the drainage system, which had not been effective in preventing flood.

"It took a long time to get approved because residents were worried that limited drainage capacity during heavy rains would lead to overflow onto roads," he remarked.
