Well-connected and integrated transportation will support the smooth distribution of food, energy availability, serve as a catalyst for economic growth, and open access to education and employment opportunities.
Pramono stated that Indonesia is currently facing challenges in the form of an uncertain geopolitical situation. This condition necessitates the immediate strengthening of national logistics independence.
In addition, other challenges such as budget management also demand more prudent and efficient handling of budgets. This way, better transportation services can be achieved.
"Therefore, we need to work more effectively, maintain accountability, strengthen innovation, while continually improving self-quality and service to the community," he explained.
As a reflection on the transportation journey, he mentioned that there is still much work to be done in the transportation sector to improve people's welfare. The government needs to ensure that every transportation facility and infrastructure is not only physically built but also functions properly and optimally.
Further, he also highlighted government programs focused on economic growth and employment absorption. One of these is the cash labor-intensive program through the Ministries of Transportation and Public Works in the form of daily wages.
"We need to prepare and perform as well as possible as a concrete effort of the transportation sector to take on a role in accelerating economic growth," he stated.
