Velodrome-Manggarai LRT Construction Reaches 69.88 Percent

The construction of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai along 6.4 kilometer continues to show positive progress.

PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) or Jakpro recorded that the project's progress reached 69.88 percent by the second week of September 2025. This marks a significant step forward in providing a modern, integrated, and environmentally friendly mode of transportation in Jakarta.

Significant progress is currently visible in Zone 1, namely Jalan Pemuda Rawamangun and Jalan Pramuka Raya, which have now reached 69.06 percent completion. The work currently underway includes the installation of elevated girders, the casting of slab decks, and the installation of parapet walls.

Construction of a special span is underway at a crucial point, the Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road crossing. This highly complex project is proceeding on schedule while maintaining high safety and security standards.

Jakarta LRT Project Director Ramdani Akbar said that security, safety, and punctuality are commitments made by Jakpro and the implementing contractor.

"We ensure that every construction stage follows strict safety and security procedures. With this positive progress, we are optimistic that the project will soon provide solutions to traffic congestion and benefit the community," he said, Wednesday (9/17).

According to him, this strategic project is designed to expand the Jakarta LRT service which previously operated from Kelapa Gading to Velodrome, so that the phase 1A and 1B lines will have a total track length of 12.2 km with a travel time of 28 minutes.

"It is expected to be a solution to traffic congestion, strengthen intermodal connectivity, and support the development of public transportation in Jakarta," he added

As for information, in the Zone 2 area, namely Matraman, Jalan Tambak, and Manggarai, it has now reached 55.48 percent, with the achievement in the Matraman Flyover area where foundation work is currently being carried out and on Jalan Tambak trackworks will soon be carried out.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the Double Double Track (DDT) crossing in Manggarai, pile cap and pier work is currently underway, and on the Jalan Sultan Agung area, concrete girders are being installed for the elevated track during the window time.

"Jakarta LRT Phase 1B not only increases public transportation capacity, but also accelerates Jakarta's transformation into a sustainable and competitive global city," he stated.
