City Council Supports Vertical Farming Development in Lebak Bulus

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Vice Chairman Wibi Andrino welcomed Ladang Farm in Lebak Bulus for its innovative vertical farming development.

"We see this as a positive model for modern urban agriculture,"

The farm is capable of producing up to two tons of hydroponic vegetables per month while also empowering the local community and creating new job opportunities.

He believes similar initiatives should be expanded to other parts of Jakarta, considering the city's high food demand and limited land availability.

Wibi also encouraged Ladang Farm to collaborate with regional-owned enterprises (BUMDs), communities, and private sectors to ensure that urban farm products reach the market and provide economic benefits to residents.

Meanwhile, Jakarta DPRD Commission D Member, Neneng Hasanah, expressed support for Governor Pramono's plan to assess electricity needs for the vertical farm through the installation of solar panels.

"It's pro-people and promising program from the Governor. God willing, City Council will support it," she said.
