Jakarta Contingent Aims for Overall Champion at POMNas XIX

The Jakarta government is optimistic about achieving the overall champion title at the 19th National Student Sports Week (POMNas XIX) held in Semarang, Central Java.

My hope is, of course, to be able to defend the overall champion title

The Jakarta contingent consists of 280 athletes from various universities, supported by 74 coaches, 11 masseurs, three psychologists, and 155 officials.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) Head, Andri Yansyah said Jakarta athletes must compete with full motivation to defend the overall champion title at the POMNas event.

"I am optimistic that if the top teams and branches compete, the gold medal count will increase quickly," he expressed, Monday (9/22).

He advised the athletes competing in 17 sports to always be enthusiastic, focused, and consistent, and to always maintain team unity. Thus, the mission to defend the overall championship title can be achieved.

He also asked the coaches, assistant coaches, and team officials to be attentive and meticulous, as well as to increase vigilance against the opponents they face. Further, they should be able to demonstrate that the Jakarta contingent has excellent strength and is united.

"My hope is, of course, to be able to defend the overall champion title at the 19th POMNas event," he hoped.
