"We moved quickly to distribute aid such as disaster bags, tarpaulins, blankets, pillows, hygiene kits, and electric fans to the windstorm affected residents," he said on Monday (9/22).

According to him, the windstorm caused roofs of residents' homes to collapse. The damage to two impacted roofs is estimated to cost around Rp30 million.

"Hopefully this assistance can ease the burden of affected residents and is used properly," he expressed.

Panggang Island Urban Village Acting Head (Plh), Muhammad Nuralim, appreciated BPBD's quick response. In addition to logistical supplies, they also distributed staple food packages to the residents.

He hopes the assistance, such as tarpaulins, can be used temporarily as roofing to protect their homes from rain and heat.

"The assistance has been handed directly to the homeowners, and I hope it's useful. Those affected must stay patient and resilient in facing this disaster," he said.

Meanwhile, Tajul Arifin (45), a homeowner affected by the windstorm, thanked the government for their attention and aid. As a fisherman and father of three, he is hopeful for help to repair his roof soon.

"Alhamdulillah, thank you for this help, because it can help us in the meantime. Hopefully, our house can be fixed soon," he shared.
