Six Traditional Markets in East Jakarta Undergo Food Surveillance

Dozens of joint personnel conducted food inspections at six traditional markets in East Jakarta. No hazardous chemicals or ingredients were found.

The activity at Rawamangun Market was led by East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Kusmanto accompanied by Head of Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency Taufik Yulianto, Deputy of Pulo Gadung District, Agus Purwanto and so on.

Kusmanto said today's activities were held at Rawamangun Market, Kampung Ambon, Pramuka, Palmeriam, Jatinegara, and Cawang Kaling.

"The samples taken were agricultural and livestock products such as vegetables, fruits, beef, chicken, and others to check the content of Residue, Formaldehyde, Pesticides, Chlorine, and Eber," he said, Tuesday (9/23).

According to him, the commodities prices at those markets were also stable.

Meanwhile, Taufik Yulianto explained no hazardous chemical substances were found during today's supervision.

"There were 62 agricultural and 12 livestock samples taken from the six traditional markets and immediately tested in two mobile laboratory units," he explained.

He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all traders who have maintained the quality of the commodities they sell, thus ensuring food safety remains intact.

Meanwhile, one of the traders at Rawamangun Market, Prawoto (45) admitted happy with this activity since it can prevent the unscrupulous traders.

"We support this activity to be held here," he admitted.
