Jakarta Archery Team Wins Eight Gold Medals at POMNas XIX

The Jakarta archery sports contingents achieved satisfying results at the National Student Sports Week XIX (POMNas) in Central Java.

Our target was three gold medals

Sixteen male and female athletes competing in three divisions at the Athletics and Football Field of Professor Dirham, Semarang State University, archery athletes from Jakarta successfully won eight gold medals, two silver, and four bronze.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Secretary, Hendra Eka Permana said, despite Archery is the host province Central Java's favorite sport, the Jakarta team still showed their sharpness and was able to compete until the end.

"Of course, we always strive to the best of our ability to carry out recruitment, coaching, and training in the hope that this Archery team can represent Jakarta at the PON event or other competitions," he explained, Thursday (9/25).

Jakarta Archer Manager, Ditto Rendra expressed gratitude for the achievement because he was able to surpass the set targets.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), our target was three gold medals, but during the six days of competition, the children and coaches performed at their best. As a result, on the final day, we were able to win eight gold medals," he added.

He added that with good coaching and adequate archery facilities in Jakarta, it is not impossible that these Jakarta athletes will eventually achieve success at the national and international levels.

"Of course, the Jakarta Government has provided the best, it's just a matter of us utilizing it well, thus the athletes' abilities continue to develop and achievements can be reached easily," he said.
