Development of Jakarta's Animal and Culinary Center Reaches 85 Percent

The progress of the Jakarta Fauna and Culinary Center construction located in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, has now reached 85 percent.

Out of the total target of 125 kiosks, 119 kiosks have been completed with walls, while the remaining six kiosks are still in the foundation installation stage.

This area will later become a culinary center and a new shopping tourism destination housing vendors from the former Loksem Barito.

Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (PPKUKM) Jakarta Head, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, said that the development of Jakarta Fauna and Culinary Center is conducted to provide a more representative business space.

"We want to create a fauna and culinary center that is not only comfortable for trading but also attractive as a tourist destination for Jakarta residents," she expressed, Thursday (9/25).

Based on the latest data, the construction of 22 kiosk in Zone A (Culinary) has been completed, with the floor tiles installed by September 28, 2025. In Zones C and D (Bird Traders and Animal Feed), all kioses have been built and are expected to be completed soon, as well as in Zone E (Culinary and Parcel).

Zone B, designated for the amphitheater, is still under development. The presence of the amphitheater in Zone B is also projected to become a unique attraction as a performance and cultural arts venue.

"Besides the kiosk, this culinary center is also equipped with supporting areas, such as adequate parking lots, dining areas, and facilities for related agencies like the Satpol PP and Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat)," he closed.
