Paljaya Intensifies Safe Sanitation Socialization

Perumda Paljaya held the 'Paljaya Menyapa Jakarta 2.0' event at the Bundaran HI Astra Transjakarta Bus Stop to commemorate its 34th anniversary, Saturday (9/27).

we need to be present in public

The event, which took place from 9 AM to 9 PM, presented various interactive activities such as sanitation education, quizzes with prizes, and exclusive merchandise gifts for Transjakarta customers.

Perumda Paljaya's Technical and Business Director, Rizki Shebubakar, said that this activity aims to bring Paljaya closer to the community so that more people know the company's profile and the services it provides.

"That's why we need to be present in public transportation so that the public knows what Paljaya is and what services we offer," he said.

Rizki added that this socialization also emphasized basic knowledge about safe sanitation, which is still poorly understood by the public.

For example, septic tanks should ideally be drained every three years, or the importance of building a septic tank with a watertight system and a gooseneck to prevent odors.

"We hope these fundamentals will become more widely known through this activity. Paljaya's services are standardized, so the price is definitely Rp 150,000 per cubic meter. That's what differentiates us from other service providers whose standards are unclear," he added.

He explained that Paljaya's main target is to achieve 100 percent safe sanitation service coverage by 2045. Achieving this target requires collaboration between the central government and regional governments, as well as international institutions that support the financing of sanitation projects.

"Hopefully people will become more aware of the importance of safe sanitation and gain basic knowledge for their daily life," he stated.
