A total of 150 FIA UI students participated in the seminar and had the opportunity to receive e-certificates and attractive door prizes.

Key speakers at the event included Budi Awaluddin (Head of Jakarta Kominfotik Agency); Harry Ara Hutabarat (Chair of Jakarta KI); Professor Retno KH (Dean of FIA UI); Luqman Hakim Arifin (Vice Chair of Jakarta KI); and Lina Miftahul Jannah (Head of PMOC FIA UI Research Cluster).

Tempo journalist and Bocor Alus host, Hussein Abri Dongoran, also joined the seminar, sharing insights on the media's role in linking the right to know and the right to act.

Budi Awaluddin explained that the seminar serves as a regular forum for promoting public information transparency in universities.

"Students are the guardians and defenders of democracy. They must understand the Public Information Disclosure Act (KIP) so they can work in synergy with the government in overseeing information openness," he said at FIA UI Auditorium in Depok, West Java, on Monday (9/29).

He mentioned that so far, more than 80 percent of the regional agencies (OPDs) within the Jakarta Provincial Government have earned the informative predicate.

"Information transparency is one of the key indicators toward becoming a global city. The exchange of information among government, academia, and society must continue to be strengthened," he asserted.

Teguh Kurniawan, Vice Dean I of FIA UI, noted that the seminar marked an important moment to honor World Right to Know Day and reaffirm the university's commitment to transparency.

"Transparency is a foundational pillar for an inclusive and participatory society. Every citizen has the right to access information in order to strengthen democracy," he stated.

Meanwhile, Harry Ara Hutabarat, Chair of Jakarta KI, expressed appreciation for the presence of Kominfotik Agency Head at the seminar.

"Campus is a place for people with critical, responsible, and objective thinking. It is here that future national leaders are shaped to become agents of positive change," he shared.
