Central Jakarta Prunes 9,560 Trees Prone to Falling

A total of 9,560 shady trees prone to falling in Central Jakarta were pruned between January and September 26, 2025.

" This is intended to create a safe and comfortable environment for residents,"

According to Mila Ananda, Head of Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry, the pruning was carried out to prevent trees from falling or breaking during heavy rain and strong winds.

"Pruning was done in response to residents' reports and the result of field monitoring by our teams," she stated on Monday (9/29).

Of the total 9,560 trees pruned, 1,948 were lightly pruned, 5,633 were moderately pruned, and 1,876 were heavily pruned.

"We also cut down 103 trees that had rotting trunks or unstable roots, as they were at high risk of falling," she added.

Mila noted that task force personnel at both the sub-agency and sub-district levels routinely prune trees that are prone to falling on main roads and in residential areas.

"This is intended to create a safe and comfortable environment for residents," she asserted.
