Pansus Perparkiran DPRD DKI Jakarta monitoring lahan parkir liar di Lebak Bulus

Here is Dishub's Statement Regarding Discovery of Illegal Parking on Government Land

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) provided an explanation regarding the findings of the Special Committee (Pansus) on Parking for Jakarta City Counxcil about illegal parking practices on lands owned by the Jakarta government in Lebak Bulus, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The government is committed to strictly cracking down on illegal practices

This practice is said to have caused potential losses of up to Rp 37.8 billion over more than two decades.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said, the land is a social/public facility (fasos/fasum) listed as an asset of the Jakarta government. The location has yet to have a permit to operate parking outside the roadway until now.

"According to the applicable parking regulations, any location with more than five parking spaces or an area exceeding 125 square meters must have a permit. This location does not yet have a parking operation permit recommendation," he expressed, Tuesday (9/30).

Based on field monitoring results, it was found that parking management activities are being conducted by residents. Subsequently, parking managers can submit an application for utilization of Regional Owned Goods (BMD) in the form of parking land to BPAD following the Ministry Regulation Number 7/2024.

He explained that the operator who will be appointed must obtain a parking operation permit through the Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Agency (DPMPTSP) with a recommendation from the Parking Management Unit.

"After the permit is issued, the location will also become an official parking tax object through the issuance of the Regional Tax Object Number (NOPD) by Bapenda," he explained.

Further, the Transportation Agency, BPAD, Bapenda, Satpol PP, mayor, and law enforcement officials will coordinate to take enforcement measures. This includes sealing off locations if violations are found and reporting to legal authorities if there are indications of criminal tax evasion.

"The government is committed to strictly cracking down on illegal practices, improving governance, and ensuring more transparent parking supervision," he furthered.

Previously, illegal parking practices were found on government land at Bona Indah Plaza Shophouse, Lebak Bulus, Cilandak, South Jakarta. The 4,300-square-meter area is said to have been controlled by irresponsible parties for more than two decades, without official permission and without paying taxes, thereby causing potential losses to the region estimated at Rp 37.8 billion.
