MBG Suppliers in Tanjung Priok Receive Ready-to-Eat Food Safety Training

Tanjung Priok District's Community Health Center together with North Jakarta Health Sub-agency held Ready-to-Eat Food Safety (KPPS) training for Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that provide Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) in Warakas Urban Village Office.

Head of Tanjung Priok District's Community Health Center, Sahruna said this training aims to improve the understanding and capacity of MBG providers in applying hygiene and sanitation principles in food processing. This can help prevent health problems from consuming MBG.

"The training was participated by 60 people," he said, Wednesday (10/1).

He added that participants were provided with material on hygiene, sanitation, equipment cleaning, vector and disease-carrying animal control, food borne diseases, and nutritional food safety standards.

"This training isn't just about cooking, but also maintaining food quality, from raw ingredients to processing to presentation. Everything must meet standards to ensure it's truly safe and nutritious," he added.

He hopes that this training will motivate the performance of all SPPG workers in providing hygienic and safe MBG program food to support the growth and development of a healthy generation in Jakarta.

Warakas Urban Village Head, Ahmad Surya Kusuma, stated SPPG officers are at the forefront of the MBG program. Therefore, they must be educated on basic food safety principles.

"The training is good. There were no negative reports related to the program in our area," he stated.

Meanwhile, the SPPG Manager in Warakas Urban Village, Rahmat Hidayat, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the North Jakarta Health Sub-agency and Tanjung Priok Community Health Center for providing training for MBG providers.

"This training can increasingly serve as a reminder and encouragement for them to work professionally, hygienically and safely," he admitted.
