Fire Burns Used Goods Stall in Pondok Kelapa This Morning

An used goods stall on Jalan Bojong Sari, RT 02/06, Pondok Kelapa Urban Village, Duren Sawit Sub-district were destroyed in a fire on Friday (10/10) morning.

We deployed 11 fire engines and 55 firefighters to the scene

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Duty Officer, Edi Parwoko said, the fire triggered by the electricity short circuit was reported to have occurred at 5:10 AM.

"We deployed 11 fire engines and 55 firefighters to the scene," he expressed, Friday (10/10).

Fire Guts Restaurant at Ciplaz Mall

Upon arriving at the location, he explained, the fire was already raging because the residents' early intervention efforts did not yield optimal results.

"Fire was difficult to extinguish due to the abundance of flammable items. We immediately made quick action," he explained.

He explained, the firefighting process on the approximately 150-square-meter land began at 5:29 AM. The fire was declared extinguished at 6:34 AM.

"No casualties or fatalities in the incident," he added.

One of the locals, Warjo (65) admitted, the fire was spreading rapidly and was difficult to extinguish despite residents' efforts to put it out using makeshift equipment.

"Thank you, the officers arrived quickly, and this fire did not spread to other buildings," he stated.
