City Council Supports Night at Ragunan Zoo Innovation

Jakarta City Council Deputy Chairman, Wibi Andrino supports the night operation of Ragunan Zoo that will be trialled tomorrow, Saturday (10/11) on 6-10 PM.

We're supporting this innovation

This policy is an initiative of the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, to provide more recreation and sports options for Jakarta residents on weekends.

"We're supporting this innovation, but it must stay inclusive," he said, Friday (10/10).

Ragunan Zoo Adds More CCTVs for Night Operation Trial

Wibi then requested the trial result to be submitted first to the city council before permanent application.

"We also request that security, operational and night traffic aspects be thoroughly studied and reported to the city council before this policy is implemented permanently," he added.

During the trial period, private vehicles are prohibited from entering the Ragunan zoo area. Visitors can still enjoy the various sports facilities within the zoo.

Moreover, visitors can also go around using a paid shuttle bus service to see a collection of nocturnal animals or animals that are active at night.

Wibi asked the Ragunan Zoo Management Unit (UP TMR) to review the basis for setting the shuttle service tariff of Rp 250 thousand for five visitors.

"Can lower-middle class residents still enjoy this public facility with a shuttle fare of Rp 250 thousand for five people?" he stated.
