Pramono Receives US Business Delegation to Discuss Investment Enhancement

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, received an audience with the US-ASEAN Business Council's 2025 Indonesia Business Mission (US Business Delegation) at the Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (10/15).

The meeting was held to explore potential collaborations to support the achievement of sustainable urban development goals and increase investment in Jakarta, in line with the development agenda of the Jakarta Provincial Government.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung welcomed the visit by the US-ASEAN Business Council, led by Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters. He stated that the delegation comprised American companies that have invested in Indonesia for decades.

"I received the US-ASEAN Business Council today, led by the Ambassador. There were American companies that have invested in Indonesia for decades, and their operations have been running smoothly," said Pramono.

According to Pramono, the visit of the US-ASEAN Business Council delegation was to find out and understand the direction of the Jakarta Provincial Government's development goals, as well as to collaborate with the central government.

"Hopefully today's discussion will further strengthen the relationship between the US and Indonesia in terms of business, especially for Southeast Asia," he added.

The US-ASEAN Business Council wants to develop further investments in Indonesia, especially related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), industry, and the provision of various trainings.

"Hopefully what they have invested in Jakarta, especially in Indonesia, can bring goodness not only to Jakarta and to them, but also to the people of both sides, he hoped.

Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters led a meeting of 36 US company delegates with the Jakarta Governor.

McFeeters expressed interest in US companies contributing to Jakarta's development.

"We come to Indonesia every year, and at each meeting, we make significant investments in development. We're particularly interested in Jakarta as a smart city, transit issues, artificial intelligence, and human resource development," he said.

According to McFeeters, US companies can contribute to these issues. He also emphasized that the US is ready to be a partner with Jakarta.
