Repair of Cipinang Retaining Wall in Makasar Almost Complete

The progress of the Cipinang River retaining wall repair on Jalan Kerja Bakti, RT 06 and 08/RW 04, Makasar Urban Village, Makasar Sub-district, East Jakarta has reached 90 percent.

Repair is done along 117 meters with a height of 5.5 meters

East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA)'s Maintenance Section Head, Puryanto said, the repair has been underway since July 17, 2025, and is targeted to be finished by the end of this October 2025.

"Repair is done along 117 meters with a height of 5.5 meters," he expressed, Monday (10/20).

He explained, it was previoulsy still natural, so many collapsed due to aging and erosion during high water flow. If ignored, this condition would pose a danger considering it was close to a public road and residential areas.

"Landslide has been occurring gradually for the past two years. The worst condition occurred on September 15, eroding the roadbed," he explained.

He assessed, the work involved third parties through the e-catalog auction process.

"Hopefully, the repair will be completed on time for everyone's comfort," he hoped.

This work received appreciation from one of the residents, Toto (43).

"Hopefully, there will be no more landslides and residents' access roads can be traveled more comfortably," he hoped.
