Channel on Jalan Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX Dredged from Mud

Some 11 personnel of Cakung Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit, East Jakarta were deployed to dredge the channel on Jalan Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX, RT 01/05, Cakung Barat Urban Village.

Cakung Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Dian Nur Cahyono said, the dredging of this micro channel is a follow-up to the residents' proposal through the Regional Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang).

According to him, the channel is unable to hold the water during heavy rain due to mud and garbage with a thickness of 50 centimeters.

"This work has been underway since October 17, 2025, and is targeted for completion on November 5, 2025," he expressed, Tuesday (10/21).

He explained, the channel dredging with a width and height of 80 centimeters was carried out along 100 meters.

"This is done manually. Currently, the progress has only touched 30 percent," he explained.

He added, the volume of mud that has been transported amounts to approximately 10 cubic meters and has been packed into 800 sacks.

"The mud was dumped onto the East Flood Canal Flood Canal (KBT), Ujung Menteng, Cakung Sub-district," he added.

This dredging received appreciation from one of the locals, Mastur (54).

"Residents certainly can't dig up the mud because its thickness reaches 50 centimeters," he stated.
