Pramono Commits to Optimizing Regional Funds for Jakarta's Development

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated he has instructed his subordinates to immediately utilize regional funds currently sitting idle in various banks, including Bank Jakarta.

"Any idle funds in Jakarta will definitely be utilized,"

This follows a call from Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa urging regional governments to speed up their spending. In Jakarta, approximately Rp14.6 trillion is reported to be sitting unused.

"Regarding idle regional funds in banks, including Bank Jakarta, I've already instructed my team. I fully agree with what Mr. Purbaya said," shared Pramono at the East Jakarta Mayor's Office on Tuesday (10/21).

He assured that these idle funds will soon be put to use, especially following the recent cut in Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH). He believes that Jakarta needs greater fiscal space to continue its development.

"Therefore, any idle funds in Jakarta will definitely be utilized. Especially with DBH cut, Jakarta requires more fiscal flexibility to carry on with development," he explained.

He also noted the central government’s planned Rp10 trillion transfer to Bank Jakarta, assuring it will be utilized effectively for Jakarta’s development.

"Hopefully, Jakarta will soon receive the central government's transfer to Bank Jakarta, which was recently discussed and is expected to amount to Rp10 trillion. That money will definitely be used responsibly to develop Jakarta," he concluded.
