"The TOD 2025 Forum is our effort, a space to formulate connectivity and sustainability so that Jakarta continues to move as a global city without erasing its history and losing its cultural roots," Rano said.
Rano added that the TOD Forum could be a strategic platform to explore collaboration between stakeholders in the Kota Tua cultural heritage area, including the community, developers, institutions, and government agencies.
"We work to realize TOD development in the Kota Tua cultural heritage area amidst Jakarta's transformation towards a sustainable, inclusive, and connected city," he added.
Rano explained that the construction of MRT Phase 2A from HI Roundabout to Kota Tua is one of the transformation steps.
"This route will pass many cultural heritage buildings including the Sarinah Building, Bank Indonesia Museum, Chandranaya Building, Pantjoran Tea House, Bank Mandiri Museum, Thamrin Clock Tower, and Jakarta Kota Station (BEOS)," he explained.
Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct revitalization by reusing old buildings, creating creative spaces, and implementing integrated urban design.
"I hope that this steps will make Kota Tua a dynamic area that will boost the local economy and creative industry," Rano hoped.
