Dukuh Atas TOD, Sudirman Statue will Be Relocated to a Strategic Location

The Jakarta government is about to arrange the Jenderal General Statue in line with the development of the Dukuh Atas integrated transportation area or Transit Oriented Development (TOD). This is done to ensure that respect for General Sudirman's service is maintained.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung wants General Sudirman’s Statue to be placed in a more prominent position where it is more clearly visible and attracts the attention of passersby.

"Certainly, we must give appreciation to the statue because, after all, he is a great general. So, when it is built and connected at Dukuh Atas, the statue should be placed exactly in front," he expressed, Friday (10/3).

City and Central Governments Accelerate Transportation Development in Jakarta

Even, the statue will later be more clearly visible to drivers coming from Jalan MH Thamrin.

"Actually, before we take transportation to Dukuh Atas, if we come from Thamrin, the statue will be easier to see. We will arrange that," he explained.

Earlier, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung met with Transportation Ministry, Dudy Purwagandhi, to discuss the acceleration of several transportation infrastructure projects in Jakarta on Monday (9/29). These included the development of Dukuh Atas TOD and the improvement of train station connectivity.

This TOD Dukuh Atas will eventually connect four modes of transportation: LRT, MRT, KRL, and Airport Train. Besides this project, discussions also included plans to merge Karet Station and BNI Station. These efforts would improve transportation connectivity in Jakarta.

"If that has been realized, everyone passing through Dukuh Atas won't get caught in the rain and will be well connected," he closed.
