The Kebayoran Baru Sub-district Water Resources Implementation Unit (SDA), South Jakarta is revitalizing the water channels on Jalan Darmawangsa IV, Pulo Urban Village.
Hopefully, it will be finished next month
Kebayoran Baru Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Officer, Agam said, this revitalization aims to repair the old channels that are no longer functioning optimally.
"The old channel is no longer functioning properly. Besides being too narrow, many retaining walls have collapsed," he expressed, Wednesday (10/29).
Water Channel on Jalan Haji Jum RevitalizedHe explained, the revitalization was conducted using a U-ditch measuring 60x60 centimeters along 13.5 meters. Then, for the U-ditch measuring 40x40 centimeters is along 39 meters.
"We involve six personnel and one heavy equipment to facilitate the installation of the U-ditch," he explained.
According to him, the work progress has touched 60 percent and is expected to operate optimally to prevent flooding.
"Hopefully, it will be finished next month. We urge residents and traders around the area not to throw trash into the channels to prevent blockages," he hoped.
The work received appreciation from one of locals, Ichsan Ramadan.
"Hopefully, it will be completed quickly and effectively prevent floods as it has been raining frequently lately," he stated.
