The Jakarta City Council Commission E asks the Jakarta Agency of Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (DPPAPP), to better optimize the role of the Dasawisma through the Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak Post (Pos SAPA).

Jakarta City Council Commission E Chairman, Muhammad Thamrin said, the protection of women and children must become the top priority.

"DPPAPP must provide many counseling sessions, record data on victims of violence, and carry out early anticipation by providing education to our children," he expressed, Wednesday (10/29).
He emphasized the importance of a preventive approach in programs for the protection of women and children. The budget of the PPAPP Agency should also be allocated for educational and socialization activities to prevent the potential for violence from the outset.
"So it's not about waiting for victims, but rather how we can provide education and outreach to prevent violence from happening early on," he explained.
He also pushed the PPAPP Agency to strengthen cross-sector collaboration, such as with the Education Agency, Social Agency and Health Agency, to create a more comprehensive protection system.
"The main point is that all parties must work together and be more serious in warning and addressing the potential for sexual violence against our children," he stated.
