Cross-Agency Personnel Quickly Respond to Flooding in Jakarta

Head of South Jakarta Social Sub-agency, Bernard Tambunan said his side immediately prepared basic needs assistance such as ready to eat food and in-kind since receiving information about inundation in a number of locations.

"We already distributed the assistance last night and this morning according to urban village data," he said, Friday (10/31).

According to him, there were 1,790 food boxes distributed last night. It also included the mineral water.

He explained that 200 boxes were distributed to Jati Padang Urban Village, 520 boxes to Bangka Urban Village, 200 boxes to Cipete Utara Urban Village, 200 boxes to Cipete Selatan Urban Village, and 670 boxes to Pejaten Barat Urban Village.

"The in-kind assistance was distributed according to requests," he explained.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of Jati Padang Urban Village, Rocky Tarigan thanked the government and residents for their cooperation in lightening inundation survivors burden.

"Hopefully the assistance will be useful for the survivors," he hoped.
