Flood Receded, Jalan Kemang Raya is Now Passable for Vehicles

The flood caused by heavy rain yesterday afternoon that hit Jalan Kemang Raya, Bangka Urban Village, Mampang Prapatan Sub-district, South Jakarta, has finally completely receded since early morning.

The situation has been back to normal since 1:30 AM

This was made possible by the prompt actions of 52 personnel operating 10 mobile pumps at the flood site.

Bangka Urban Village Head, Firdaus Aulawy Rois said, the flood was caused by the overflow of the Krukut River, which resulted in total road access being shut down yesterday.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), the situation has been back to normal since 1:30 AM and both cars and motorbikes have passed through," he expressed, Friday (10/31).

He explained that 20 personnel were deployed to clear the trash blockage in the water channel and to clean up the mud after the flood.

"Flooding in Bangka Urban Village has also gradually subsided, and activities are beginning to return to normal," he added.

South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) Head, Santo explained, flood handling began at 9:30 PM by operating pumps of Kemang Timur 1 and Kemang Raya.

"At 10:30 PM, the mobile pump was also operated at the location to speed up the water drainage process on Jalan Kemang Raya, resulting in good outcomes. It was proven that the flood completely subsided by 1:30 AM," he closed.
