Governor Kicks Off Padel Tournament, Highlights Vision for Jakarta as Sport Tourism Hub

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo officially opened the DYA Community Padel Tournament in Cipete, South Jakarta.

"I'm truly grateful to be here for the opening of this padel tournament, which has become extremely popular in Jakarta," said Pramono on Saturday (11/1).

He also believes that today's padel tournament serves not only as a community gathering but also as a boost to nearby MSMEs.

"This will bring a positive impact on Jakarta's economic growth," he added.

He noted that the enthusiasm at today's event shows that padel has become part of the lifestyle of Jakartans, who are active, collaborative, and full of sportsmanship.

"Padel represents that spirit, fostering togetherness while promoting a healthy lifestyle amid the hustle of Jakarta," he expressed.

He also appreciated the DYA Community for making padel not only a competitive event but also a networking platform that connects young professionals, creative industry players, and business communities.

He mentioned that the Jakarta Provincial Government is fully committed to making Jakarta a world-class sport tourism destination.
