Channel on Jalan Haji Najih Being Revitalized to Prevent Flooding

The progress of the water channel revitalization on Jalan Haji Najih, RT 02/08, Joglo Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-district, West Jakarta, has reached 36.5 percent. The work completed so far is 80 meters out of the targeted 219.5 meters.

"The channel already exists but is too small, and we're currently replacing it with a larger one," stated Kembangan Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit Field Coordinator, Yoga, Monday (11/3)

He explained this revitalization of the 219.5-meter-long channel used a 40x40 centimeter U-ditch.

"It has been underway since September 24, 2025, and is targeted for completion in December 2025," he explained.

He added ten personnel had been alerted to execute the work on Jalan Haji Najih.

"Hopefully, the channel can be optimal for blocking flooding," he hoped.

Therefore, locals are urged to keep the channels clean as best as possible.

"Don't litter into the water channels," he asserted.

This work received appreciation from one of the residents, Budi Hermawan.

"This channel is less than optimal and small, causing water to overflow onto the road and result in flooding," he admitted.
