Jakarta won its first gold medal at the 17th National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) in Jakarta. This brilliant achievement was achieved by weightlifter Siti Kallah Marwah, who competed in the 44 kilogram class.

Siti Kallah Marwah successfully won two gold medals in the Snatch and Clean & Jerk events, with a score of 58 kilograms in the Snatch and 70 kilograms in the Clean & Jerk.

Head of Jakarta Youth and Sport Agency, Andri Yansyah appreciated this achievement. He said this success was a positive momentum for Jakarta, which is pursuing its target of becoming the overall champion.

"Siti's hard work and discipline in training have yielded sweet results, while also opening up opportunities for other sports to catch up in winning medals," he said, Monday (11/3).

The Jakarta Contingent for Weightlifting Manager, Asep Rachmat Hidayat, explained that Siti Kallah Marwah's struggles did not only occur in the competition arena, but also during the preparation process for the National Sports Week (POPNAS) 2025.

According to him, Siti's dedication to maintaining her physical condition was one of the keys to her success in winning the gold medal for Jakarta.

"She managed to lose weight from 52 kilograms to 44 kilograms. And this was the toughest challenge in her diet program," he explained.
