Joint Personnel Control Illegal Parking on Jalan Cikini Raya

Joint personnel of Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, Social Sub-agency, and Environmental Sub-agency assisted by army and police, Wednesday (11/5), controlled illegal parking on Jalan Cikini Raya.

Head of Central Jakarta Satpol, TP Purba said the activity was held to respond to Mayor Arifin's instruction due to many vehicles and street vendors occupied sidewalk and roadside.

"The sidewalk and roadside often occupied by vehicles and street vendors at noon and in the evening," he said.

He added that no vehicles or street vendors were prosecuted during this operation. Joint personnel only blocked several locations previously used for illegal parking and online motorcycle taxis.

"We will deploy joint personnel to control illegal parking and street vendors," he added.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Wildan Anwar explained a shelter is already provided for motorcycle taxi drivers near Cikini Station. However, as the afternoon approached, many motorcycle taxi drivers stopped their motorcycle on the roadside.

"We deploy personnel in the afternoon to evening to direct them waiting the passenger in the shelter," he explained.
