Men's and Women's Team Badminton from Jakarta Advance to Semifinals

The Jakarta Men's and Women's Team Badminton team successfully advanced to the semifinals of the National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) XVII 2025. They will face Central Java Team today, Thursday (11/6).

In the semifinals, we will face Central Java

Jakarta men's team advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Special Region of Yogyakarta team in yesterday's final group A match. This victory solidified their position as the champions of Group A.

The women's team semifinal tickets were secured after defeating West Java in the final match of Group D with a score of 3-0. Like the men's team, this women's team also finished as group champions.

Jakarta Athletics Set to Surpass Gold Target at 2025 POPNAS

Jakarta Contingent Badminton Manager, Mat Hair admitted, he was happy with the results achieved today. Hopefully, this achievement would help them focus more on the next game.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), we managed to qualify as group winners. In the semifinals, we will face Central Java," he stated.

Despite they performed well during the group stage, he is not easily arrogant. The various matches faced have actually been part of the sharpening process.

Therefore, he has asked the coaching team to continue evaluating and making improvements so that all the athletes who will compete are ready to face their opponents.

Hopefully, badminton could bring achievements and medals for the Jakarta contingent.

"We will pay attention to the fitness aspect. Because after the morning semi-finals, the schedule will continue with the finals in the late afternoon," he stated.
