City Continues to Expand Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities

The Jakarta Provincial Government has demonstrated a strong commitment to realizing an inclusive workplace. It was shown by holding a Disability Job Fair at Taman Ismail Marzuki on November 3, 2025.

Head of Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency, Syaripudin, said this activity is real proof that job opportunities are widely open to all residents, without exception, including for people with physical and sensory limitations.

He explained that after undergoing a selection process, 150 people with disabilities were successfully hired. Some of them now work at PAM JAYA in call center positions and at Transjakarta in promotions and advertising.

Job Fest 2025 Offers 12,000 Job Opportunities

"They go through the selection process like other job applicants, by focusing on each individual's potential and abilities ," he explained, Thursday (11/13).

He added that providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities has been regulated in the Law and Regional Regulations on Disabilities, which require companies to provide a work quota of 1–2 percent.

Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government plays an active role in ensuring that companies, both regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and private companies, prepare this quota.

In addition to the provincial-level disability job fair, the agency also collaborates with Regional Job Training Centers (PPKD) in each city. Participants are provided with skills in graphic design, barista training, and other fields tailored to industry needs.

"This training is the first step so that people with disabilities can be hired," he added.

The Jakarta Provincial Government plans to hold another Disability Job Fair to expand its reach and increase inclusive job opportunities.
