HKN 2025 Highlights Vision of Smart and Healthy Jakarta

The 61st National Health Day (HKN) commemoration at the Jakarta provincial level for 2025 was officially opened at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (11/20).

"What matters most is how the citizens become healthy. Health is a priority,"

With the theme "Smart City, Healthy People", the event runs from November 20 to 21, 2025, and is attended by various health stakeholders, including healthcare practitioners, cadres, academics, community groups, and local government officials.

The event is an important part of the series of activities leading up to the peak of HKN celebration, scheduled for November 25, 2025, at Balai Agung.

Jakarta Secretary Assistant for Public Welfare, Ali Maulana Hakim, said the HKN celebration should be more than just a ceremony. He stressed that health is the key to building Jakarta's future, especially as the city aims to become a global city.

"Today, we come together with a common goal to create a Jakarta with healthy, strong, and thriving communities," he expressed.

Ali explained that a global city is not only marked by skyscrapers and advanced infrastructure but by the quality of life of its residents. He mentioned Jakarta's goal to rank among the top 20 global cities by 2045. Therefore, he stressed the importance of an inclusive city that leaves no citizen behind in accessing healthcare services.

"What matters most is how the citizens become healthy. Health is a priority. And after being healthy, they must also be prosperous," he added.

Ali noted that Jakarta’s challenge as a global city is ensuring all its residents adopt healthy lifestyles amid modernization. He praised the Health Agency's programs that promote healthy living, including efforts to reduce clothing sizes and encourage lifestyle changes.

"These efforts must be intensified, and we cannot rely solely on the Health Agency. We need to engage influencers, PKK cadres, and various community groups to reinforce the healthy lifestyle campaign," he asserted.

Ali also encouraged all elements of the pentahelix model, including the government, health workers, the business sector, academics, and communities, to collaborate in building a healthy, safe, and inclusive Jakarta

He hoped that the various competitions and innovations featured during National Health Day (HKN) would inspire participants to boost their creativity in overcoming health-related challenges.

Jakarta Health Agency Head, Ani Ruspitawati, said the 61th HKN themed "Smart City, Healthy People" represents Jakarta's commitment in building a smart and sustainable health ecosystem.

She explained that various activities had been organized to enliven HKN, including public education and capacity building for health workers, highlighting agendas such as the talk show "Prevent Stroke Early: From the Kitchen to Your Steps" and another on dengue vaccination to strengthen public understanding of disease prevention.

On the other hand, healthcare worker competency was enhanced through sessions on stroke emergency thrombolysis management and heart attack emergency alteplase protocol.

"This is a key commitment to strengthen emergency services in Jakarta," she mentioned.

Furthermore, this year's HKN also showcased various innovations in tuberculosis (TB) control as well as a health cadre smart‑quiz event to strengthen the network of health volunteers.

She added that the entire series of activities is a collective effort to accelerate the realization of a healthy society within a modernizing urban ecosystem.

"All of these agendas are part of our collective efforts to develop a health ecosystem that is smarter, more responsive, and sustainable," she concluded.
