Rano Reaffirms Jakarta's Commitment to Supporting Wellness Tourism Development

Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno emphasized the Jakarta government's support for the development of tourism focused on health and wellness tourism in Jakarta.

City can only progress if its residents live with a healthy and balanced spirit

He made this statement while opening the Jakarta Wellness Tourism Development Discussion Forum at PENN Restaurant Jakarta, Jalan Wolter Monginsidi, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

"I begin today's activities with the belief that a city can only progress if its residents live with a healthy and balanced spirit," he expressed, Friday (11/21).

He went on to say that Jakarta, with all its dynamics, is moving toward a major transformation into a global city that is not only competitive but also comfortable, balanced, and happy for all its residents.

He also hoped that the wellness tourism ecosystem could incorporate local culture and strengthen healthy destinations in Jakarta.

According to him, the wellness tourism ecosystem with its culture, environment, and creative industries will become an important pillar in creating a healthier and happier city.

"This wellness tourism development effort is in line with our commitment to make Jakarta part of the Happy City Index by 2027," he explained.

He hoped that this forum could generate sustainable follow-up actions. Therefore, periodic evaluations of the roadmap, work programs, and collaboration agendas can be done to ensure that each plan is measurable and has a real impact.

"All this wealth is authentic capital that gives Jakarta a strong competitive edge at the regional and international levels. The Jakarta government is committed to supporting it," he stated.
