Locals Appreciate the Area Arrangement on Untung Jawa Island

Local residents appreciate the development of the area in Kampung Jepang, RW 03, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands.

This arrangement is indeed very important

One of the residents from Untung Jawa Island, Syarif (49), welcomed and appreciated the arrangement. This is because a clean and beautiful environment makes both the community and tourists feel more comfortable.

"As a tourist island area, this arrangement is indeed very important. Besides being clean, it also makes the environment more lush, healthy, and beautiful," he expressed, Wednesday (11/26).

The same statement also came from another resident, Ahya (30).

"Hopefully, this arrangement can continue. We will also strive to maintain the environment well and appropriately," he stressed.

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Muslim explained, the arrangements have been underway since early November 2025, involving approximately 15 personnel of PPSU, Water Resources (SDA), Environmental, and Park and City Forest Sub-agencies.

"What we are doing is road and drainage repairs, curb painting, park improvements, tree planting, and composting," he explained.

This is also to encourage active participation from all levels of society, especially in making the Seribu Islands a clean, healthy, well-organized, and well-maintained area.

He hoped that Untung Jawa Island Urban Village could achieve the best score at this year's Adipura Awards.

"Hope this can have a positive impact not only on the Adipura assessment but also on the quality of life of the locals," he hoped.
