Pramono Receives BMPS Award at Leadership Level

The Private School Consultative Body (BMPS) awarded the BMPS Award Ing Ngarso Sung Tuladha to Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung.

This year, Jakarta has 40 pilot schools

The award ceremony took place at the Human Resources Training Center (PPSDM) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikdasmen) in Depok City, West Java.

This BMPS Award is given to regional heads who demonstrate strong support and favoritism towards private schools. In addition to Jakarta, other award recipients are South Sulawesi, Depok City, and Tangerang Regency.

Jakarta Wins First Place in SAC 2025

It is expected to encourage other regions to also provide similar support for private education in Indonesia.

The Jakarta government keeps supporting private schools through free private school services, grants for teachers, a joint new student admission system, and honorariums for private school teachers.

"We have worked together with the Jakarta government to provide free private schooling. This year, Jakarta has 40 pilot schools. Next, there will be 200 more schools, with the hope that the number will continue to grow to provide opportunities for free education," explained National Conference Committee (Munas) Chair, Imam Parikesit, in his written statement, Friday (11/28).

He also appreciates the Jakarta government's efforts to provide grants for teachers in a bid to improve their welfare. Hopefully, the government's initiative could serve as an example for other provinces.

"Another thing that needs to be appreciated is the provision of grants for teachers, with the hope that this can serve as an example for other provincial governments to improve teachers' welfare," he closed.
